Free People Finder! There it goes. The last bit of privacy, I hope we’re all happy! Online people finders are available to anyone now. Apparently you can use almost any bit of information to pull up a profile on almost anyone, including home address and such. For example if you use type in a phone number, the Free People Finder will bring up a physical address for you. I haven’t checked all of them but I think cell phones are still safe. By safe I mean they don’t typically pull up a physical address. Whew! But what if you don’t want someone to know all of that? Personally, I will be unlisted from now until forever in order to protect my own privacy. Being free, I think this service will eventually add yet another dimension to the already vast world of information available at our fingertips. Also, i'm looking forward to seeing how people will use this service. Of course, it still remains true that “you get what you pay for”. The People Finders that charge a fee offer better service and maintain a reliable database. For example some vendors provide online access to public records like real estate records, lawsuits, liens, judgments, bankruptcies, UCCs, motor vehicle registrations, OSHA violations and even corporate records. On the other hand some companies are just using this to help people find old friends from school, connecting “singles” from the same area or employers in general are even using the technique. Yahoo and AOL both have free people finders. Between this and free background checks it looks like there are no more secrets. So fess up! You know what... never mind. I don’t want to know.
